Many websites that we use in our work are building their own apps for use on mobiles. Some of these apps are full featured, but most are reduced.
Google Drive, for example, allows for creating and sharing docs and spreadsheets, but does not support presentations (at least not yet). Edmodo's app looks to be an improvement on the mobile access via the website. Infinite Campus and Canvas apps are intended for user access to basic information, not for creating or editing.
Expect even more and better apps to appear over time.
